General Information

The term 'Half-Breed' denotes the race of any individual who has a mixed heritage in terms of species. For example, somebody with a Human mother and a High Elven father would be considered a Half-Breed, though he or she may also go by the term 'Half-elf' instead. Half-Breeds are generally uncommon, but far from unheard of.

A Half-Breed does not have to be half one race, half another; the term can apply to one who is, for example, half-Human, quarter-Elf and quarter-Orc. Whether a given Half-Breed is considered a "High" race or a "Low" race is a very complex subject. Largely, if the individual is bred with half or more of a "Low" race's genetics, society will consider the individual to be "Low" racial.

Interspecies Relations

In some places, Half-Breeds are looked down upon as impure or degenerates. In other places, they are regarded no differently than anybody else. A Half-Breed's reception among a given society can also be different depending on his or her exact breed. For example, most Humans are likely to shun those who are half-"Low" race.

Magical Affinities

Halfbreeds have varying affinities for magic, based upon their exact breed.

Different Half-Breeds

There are several different possibilities for Half-Breeds. Only certain races can interbreed with one another, and as such, some racial combinations will not be seen in Half-Breeds. For example, Elves can cross-breed with Humans and Orcs, but not with Lepirians or Dwarves. Below is a list of all possible breeds.

  • Elves - Can cross-breed with Humans and Orcs
  • Humans - Can cross-breed with Elves and Orcs
  • Orcs - Can cross-breed with Humans, Elves and Goblins
  • Goblins - Can cross-breed with Orcs
