General Info

Norimac (Nor-ih-mack) is the god of water and the seas. He is the master of tides, the caller of rivers, and the driver of oceanic storms. He is called the Aquarian King, the Tide Caller, or the Wavelord. He is of and under the Primal Goddess Braisys, who is the Primal of Elements.

Norimac appears as a bipedal being, with faded gray skin, and a face that seems almost reptilian or amphibious in appearance. Rather than hair, there are fins that sprout from his had, trailing behind him, and whiskers much like that from a fish sprout from his jaw. He is a large, powerful being, built strong and wearing robes of faded blue cloth.

Relations

Norimac has no enemies among the other gods, but likewise, has almost no allies. He is a solitary divine, both revering and lamenting his isolation. He is the divine husband of Sihla, the Goddess of Wind and Air, however he is only able to be with her once every one-thousand years, when her drifting in the atmosphere settles her in the frozen north for a short time. He spends the rest of his time on his throne, guiding the currents that drive the world's waters and keep the planet quenched.

Norimac and Sihla have produced divine offspring, in the form of a deity named Corredar the Wavestrider. He uses his son as an envoy, and more importantly, as a subordinate to carry out his will.

Like some of the other minor gods, Norimac refers to his patron Primal in an endearing way. To him, Braisys is the "sweet mother of all matter," or "the mother of the elements."

Personality

Norimac has secluded himself to only refreshing the worlds waters, keeping the planets currents and flows of the seas in constant motion and order. He does listen to some of his worshipers, most commonly the Sea Elves, though he interacts with them very little, himself.

Norimac's only interactions with mortals, for the most part, are for those who have done him incredible service, or punishing those who curse the names of Sihla or Braisys.

While he has control of all aspects of the sea and the oceanic weather, it is not often that he makes use of this power. These actions tend to fall to Corredar.

Aliases

Like most gods, Norimac is known to many different cultures by many different names and faces.

Noorcan the Abyssal

Most of Human kind who sail the seas pass on tales to one another of Noorcan the Abyssal, who patrols the ocean deeps, often combining Norimac and Corredar into one being. It is said that those who earn his favor through tribute make safe journeys, guided by wind and wave at the hand of a pleased Noorcan. By the same logic, those who earn his disfavor are beset by storms, effectively assaulted by the god. Many still claim to have been aboard ships lost at the hands of Noorcan's leviathan.

Caoran the Seaking

To the Sea Elves, and some other Elven races, he is known as Caoran the Seaking, who sits on the coral throne of the waves. Many who know him as Caoran also believe in the existence of his son and his leviathan. To the Sea Elves, the real force of the Seaking's anger is his pet monstrosity. Like others, it is believed that Caoran provides safe passage to those he blesses, and sends his wrathful beast after those who earn his contempt.
