General Information
Novrehold is a land of sprawling golden plains and grasslands, with mountains in the east, and several spans of tall sea cliffs in the west. It is bordered on the west by the Vyrum Sea, on the southwest by the Forgotten Lands, on the south by Riftwood, on the east by the Grud'mok Holdings, and on the north by the Ironhorn Plains.
Notable Locations
Novrehold is a wide land to explore, with many dangers, as well as wondrous sights. A general rule of thumb is that the farther south you go, the more dangerous it becomes.
Towns
- Autumnstead - The local halfling township. This town is renowned for its brewing, and is considered a jewel of the kingdom.
- Castle Swiftwind - The capital of the kingdom. The large castle, built from an ancient fortress, is surrounded on all sides by a bustling town that blooms out into a wide farming community.
- Farelfelt - A small town near the Great Eranim River. The townsfolk have taken to collecting and selling artifacts washed down the river from the Wakiun Wildwood as souvenirs.
- Miran Fork - A town placed at the junction of the Southern Grain Road and the Ironhorn Road. It is a quiet little village, that subsists mostly on farming the plains, as well as cultivating the bank of the Southpaw River and fishing.
- Ridgeton - A town and seaport built right into the high cliffs. It is surrounded by grand waterfalls, fed by the Great Eranim river.
- Wheton - This town is circled by many rumors, some of which refer to a secret society of shadowy magic users dwelling within.
Forts
- Fort Chorran - A fort garrisoned against possible threats from the foreign Grud'mok dwarves.
- Fort Vorona - A southwestern fort of heavy garrison. It is rumored that creatures have entered the land from the Forgotten Lands from to time, and that they have been killed by the patrols from this fort.
- Fort Welson - The northern fort that protects the roads into the kingdom from the Ironhorn Plains. This used to be a forward headquarters from centuries past, when Novrehold was a militaristic kingdom.
Dungeons
- Bromir Cove - Not much is known about the deep, cavernous tunnels that bore deep into the rock from this cove. It is fabled that savage sea monsters live therein, and that they periodically leave their hovels to wreck havoc against ships at sea.
- Darkwater Grotto - This sunken ruins is the remains of an ancient high elven city, and it is believed that it is full of treasures.
- Deepbower Caverns - A deep cave system that climbs up into the mountains, right to Stonejaw Pass. A rumored troll dwelling.
Landmarks
- The Blood Den - A known orc dwelling. These orcs prefer to engage the rare travelers to this part of the region, rather than chancing anything against the heavily garrisoned Fort Chorran. Some say that these orcs guard vast treasures, abandoned by the Stein'jar dwarves during the Grud'mok Invasion.
- Wakiun Wildwood - A stretch of forest known to be perilous. There have been numerous reports of those who wander too close being snatched away into the deep woods by the savage Wakiun wood elves.
