General Information
The Kragmoc Hills are located in the northeastern part of Everwind Country. The land is full of hills, plateaus and mountains, which have made its people strong and hearty. It is also the furthest east territory in Everwind Country. This territory is currently ruled by the Human kingdom of Kragmoc. The land is bordered on the west by Silveria and the Strongclaw Highlands, on the south by Bleakhaven, on the east by the Blaze Lands, and on the north by the Frostlands.
Notable Locations
There are a few different locations that are noteworthy in the Kragmoc Hills. There is much adventure that can be found here, but be warned, it is one of the more dangerous territories in Everwind Country, despite it being under the rulership of a Human kingdom.
Towns
- Blaine Village - A fairly size-able town, known as the last point of civilization before Chillblood Pass. Farming and animal husbandry keep this town fed and clothed, while their coffers are kept full by rich coal and iron mining.
- Bloodwatch - A small township that serves as a waypoint for traders heading to and from Bleakhaven. The site where the alliance between Kragmoc and Bleakhaven was signed.
- Chillblood Pass - A frozen little village planted on the Kragmoc-side of the pass for which is it named. For all but several days in the summer, the pass is snowed and frozen far too much to be traversed.
- Feyl Village - A moderately-sized farming village, which was given to Kragmoc when Silveria sold all the land that they controlled east of the Great Whiterock River. It has since been garrisoned and outfitted with a smaller city wall, along the western side.
- Heartblood Keep - The capital of the Human kingdom of Kragmoc. It is a size-able castle, built from strong, rough-cut stone, with an outer wall that surrounds the rest of the town. Both the Archon Road and Highstone Road lead to Heartblood Keep. It is a well-fortified city, nestled on top of a rocky hill.
- Lakestead - A rather small village that makes its living off of fishing the Archon Lake. It serves as a waypoint for couriers, traders and travelers headed to Heartblood Keep. It is known for the Streamjumper Inn.
Forts
- Achivulum - An ancient fortification carved right into the hillside. It's design and origin are unknown, and its name was given by the Dark Elves in Bleakhaven. Nonetheless, Kragmoc lightly garrisons the fort.
- Fort Blackmire - Placed on a hill, this fortress only holds a small garrison, serving as a watchman over the eastern flank of the territory. It commands the lower sloping hills leading into the Blaze Lands.
- Fort Silvertongue - A robust fortress that does not match much of Kragmoc's building style. This regal fortification was captured from Silveria.
Dungeons
- Bor'grak Troll Cave - A cave that, as its name implies, is a known nesting of Trolls. Rarely is there confrontation with this troll population, as the two nearest settlements are the mighty city of Heartblood Keep and the heavily-garrisoned Fort Silvertongue. It is rumored that the trolls guard a powerful artifact deep in the cave.
- Knightsbane Orc Hold - Orcs have taken up residence in this deep cave system. Though conflict with these Orcs has been rare, the few encounters have been relatively intense. It blocks entry into the Blaze Lands.
- Lost Hope Crevice - A deep, craggy canyon that leads into the Blaze Lands, that is rumored to be inhabited by kobolds, though no expeditions have been made to this location.
Landmarks
- Archon Lake - A shallow lake made where the Hearth Hills River drains into a low area, which has since become this landmark.
- Mount Haeryll - The tallest point in the Kragmoc Hills, and a fabled Dragon roost, though any scholar can tell you that there currently is no dragon on this mountain. It is believed that there are vast ice caverns underneath that span even into the Frostlands.
- The Blood Forest - The bulk of this strange dark wood lies in Bleakhaven, though this corner extends into the Kragmoc Hills. It is very unexplored, and often regarded as a forbidden area.
