General Information

Silveria is the northern-most Human kingdom. Its capital is Silverspire Keep. Silveria was once a part of Northwind, before the line of kings ended, and Vander Silverbrow took the throne. After a conflict over mines and territory with the Mwyn'dor Dwarves, relations with said Dwarves have been strained. This once proud and honorable kingdom has slid into decay. Though times have changed, they are still very much stuck in their old ways. They are great metal-workers, but they now have to import most of their metal, due to the loss of their mines in the Mwyn'dor Conflict.

The current leader of Silveria is Highlady Alyne Lyam, great-granddaughter of Vander Silverbrow's brother, Randoll Silverbrow. The principal deity of Silveria is Throm the Storm-Warder, who was the first Human to cross Chillblood Pass into Everwind Country. Silveria's primary philosophy is rightness, honor, justice and wealth. They hold a rivalry with their neighboring kingdom, Kragmoc, whom they were once part of Northwind with. They are shrewd crafters and miners, and at one time boasted the most well-armed military. They consider themselves the true descendants of Northwind, and regard Kragmoc as a backwards people.

Emblem and Decree

Silveria's emblem, the crown, comes from their thoughts that they are the true descendants of the legacy of Northwind, retaining what made the kingdom great.

The kingdom's decree of "shine in glory!" is a reminder of what their nation was once a part of. To many in Silveria, the drive to retain their ties to Northwind is the ultimate show of nationalism and loyalty.

Government

Silveria is led by a Highlord or Highlady, who is appointed by bloodline. While the Highlord or Highlady holds power, their 'Tenants of Succession' dictate that he or she must heed the advice of the generals and nobles in his or her court. He or she may refuse to follow direction from such individuals, but is also legally obligated to consider and understand their guidance. In the case of multiple heirs, the title of Highlord falls to male heirs first, over females. If multiple males are heirs, the firstborn has the priority to appointment. If a Highlord or Highlady fails to follow the 'Tenants of Succession,' he or she may be removed from power in exchange for another blood heir.

The Tenants of Succession

To be crowned as Highlord or Highlady, the Tenants of Succession must be observed and followed at all times during one's rule.

  • I. Service is to the people of Silveria above all else
  • II. There is no surrender, unless agreed by the court
  • III. Services must be paid to Throm the Storm-Warder daily
  • IV. There is no war, unless agreed by the generals
  • V. Advice of the court must be heard, understood, considered
  • VI. Traitors to the crown must be execute by the Highlord or Highlady's blade
  • VII. All appointments of court members must be agreed by the court

In addition to these, there were several unwritten tenants:

  • VIII. If no heir is born, there may be taken a second lord or lady for procreation
  • IX. A Highlord or Highlady should not take from the treasury for matters not of state

One tenant of succession was removed. This was removed by a diplomatic summit between Silveria and Doromir before Highlady Alyne Lyam's wedding.

  • VII-b. No individual of foreign descent may be appointed to any court position.

International Relations

Silveria is allied with Doromir in trade, which ensures military protection from the central empire as well. They are staunch rivals of their neighbors in Kragmoc.

Zones of Control

Silveria has only control over the territory for which it is named.
